My name is Kyra Williams, and I’m a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey. I’m actively working towards my LPC. I received my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University.
I have extensive experience working with clients with both behavioral health and co-occurring substance abuse concerns. I have experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups, as well as working in the community with clients focusing on distress tolerance and learning ways to function within the community. I specialize in working with populations who suffer with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, women’s issues, and other mental health concerns that impact daily living.
I like to use a variety of modalities in therapy sessions to make sure I provide individualized care. I tend to lean towards a person-centered approach with the use of mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing in sessions. In my spare time, I enjoy utilizing self-care, which can look like spending time with friends and family or watching scary movies.
