Tina James, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I graduated from Walden University in 2020 with my MSN and focus in psychiatry as a nurse practitioner. I have been a nurse for about seven years with experience in inpatient psychiatry, medical-surgical, ER crisis management, and forensic and detox nursing.  Psychiatry is dear to my heart, and I enjoy advocating for mental healthcare. The mind, body, and soul make up wellness and health, so without the proper mental health treatment, holistic care is incomplete. I have worked with many different clients with different mental disorders, providing supportive therapy and medication management. One of the most effective treatment plan includes medication management and psychotherapy as a combination. As a humble, compassionate, and caring nurse, I strive to help and take care of those going through mental health disorders to maintain a healthy quality of life. Some things I enjoy doing in my free time are shopping, traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, and watching movies. I also enjoy laughter because it is a stress reliever and it is good for the soul.
