Psychotherapist Lauren Caporoso, LSW

My name is Lauren Caporoso, and I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with you! I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey. I have a Bachelor of Psychology, with a concentration in Behavior Analysis, from Rowan University, as well as a Master of Social Work, with a certification in Aging and Health, from Rutgers University. I’ve been lucky to work with a wide range of clients ages in both psychotherapy and behavior-analytic capacities- my youngest client was two years old, and my oldest was ninety-eight. My clients have spanned many demographics in terms of gender and sexuality, religion, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, and I strive to always meet my clients where they are with understanding and in a way that works for them. Above all, I want to build a therapeutic and compassionate relationship with my clients to ensure they feel supported and heard while we work together to overcome whatever they are struggling with. I love what I do, and I know the power that a supportive therapeutic relationship can hold in helping clients effect change in their own lives, not only as a clinician but as a client of many years myself. 

I have experience providing mental health counseling to clients working to overcome trauma, grief, and family and interpersonal conflicts, as well as those with diagnoses of mood disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, chronic pain and chronic illness, stress, and suicidal ideation.
